Mark J. Higgins is a financial historian and investment advisor whose work connects America’s economic past to the challenges of modern finance. He is the author of the award-winning book, Investing in U.S. Financial History: Understanding the Past to Forecast the Future. Higgins serves as a guest curator and editorial board member at the Smithsonian-affiliated Museum of American Finance.

As a speaker, Higgins has addressed audiences at the Bogleheads Conference, CFA Institute Live 2025, and other leading forums, known for his clear synthesis of financial history, behavioral finance, and institutional analysis. His writing appears regularly in the CFA Institute’s Enterprising Investor, Financial History magazine, and other outlets seeking rigorous, historically grounded insight.
